Letter From Our Headmaster

I imagined The Clowvazar Academy during my early struggles in primary and secondary school. I dreamed of a school where homework, classwork and general scholastic participation did not feel like a drag. I was slow to do assignments, felt like I hated English class, balked at teacher instruction and had general anxiety about homework. I was not, however, slow to pick up software engineering. It's incredible how amazing our minds can be when we love something. 

I was a little scientist by heart but always had a feeling that everyone else was doing better than I was. I was lucky, though, this feeling of inadequacy fueled my resolve to perform further than my fears would have otherwise allowed me. 

It was a surprise, in a way, that when I went to college, I ended up getting degrees in Linguistics instead of Computer Science.  I was always behind in reading in school, yet there I was pushing beyond my fears and tackling it head on. Despite my degree plan, I continued in Mathematics all the way up to Calculus 2 -- a requirement that my French and Linguistics degrees did not require. Math is as important to me as English. 

The ability to zoom past our fears isn't shared by all of us. So many of us give up. I always had a feeling that education could be done better -- especially for those kiddos who couldn't push past their anxiety. 

So many of us faced the reality that we didn't fit into the public's idea of what makes a good school. The Clowvazar Academy is my mission to solve this problem. 

By creating welcoming classrooms where knowledge is appreciated, the mental state of a student is honored, our differences are celebrated and our expectations are as big as our hearts,  

The Clowvazar Academy is meant to be a solution to a very real problem that so many of us share. I am thrilled that you are here reading our website and learning about my dreams.
