About Us:
The Clowvazar Academy is private tutoring, homeschooling program that can act as a replacement for traditional schooling. Like traditional schooling, parents can send their kids to our campus to take courses 'tutoring' and receive one-on-one tutoring, but like homeschooling -- parents can choose to teach some of their courses at home using their own curriculum or using our online curriculum. We allow parents tho combine the best of all wolds. Students can attend classes for tutoring, participate in one-on-one tutoring, and combine our services with their homeschool program.
Philosophy: "I Like You"
We feel that children should be first and foremost in an environment that values them and is attentive to their needs. The environment is a large contributor to anxiety, and a child’s anxiety is the largest barrier to her or his education. Students need to be contributors to the scholastic environment and to the curriculum. Curriculum needs to match the diversity and adversity of our students.
Beliefs and Faith:
The Clowvazar Academy welcomes families of faith and secular families. We believe in creating a space where children can explore their beliefs while creating bridges between others. We teach tolerance of differences and believe strongly that our programs should be a place without persecution of beliefs. Our core faith is in truth, honesty and above all kindness to others. Our curriculum are designed to help our student uplift, develop and support their faiths (or lack of) while maintain a level of respect for others. Staff are instructed to act as mediators and not indoctrinators. For secular and religious families our school is a haven of peace, love and hope.
Curriculum:
We pride ourselves in having written and created a large amount of our curriculum specifically for the students we teach. The Clowvazar Curriculum Collection is an almost complete digital and paper based education series designed to facilitate a more customized education for our students. Because we have access to the raw materials, we are able to customize assignments for each of our students as needed. Our teachers have written books for History, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, English Arts, and Linguistics.
Day at Clowvazar:
The most basic plan at Clowvazar includes: Math, Science, Anthropology (History, Social Studies et cetera), and English (Reading and Writing) courses. Most classes are 45 minutes to 1 hour long.

Testing: No Standardized Testing Required
The Clowvazar Academy does not endorse the use of standardized tests as a way of measuring or comparing our students. Standardized test have been shown to limit education, creativity and cause unnecessary anxiety. Instead, we use portfolio assessments as a practical and more broad way of measuring our students; this approach is commonly called “multiple measures” where class tests, quizzes, homework, projects, et cetera are used as a way of measuring our students.
Opt-In-Standardized Testing:
Parents who want to opt-in to taking the Iowa Exam may do so; however, we will not teach or adjust our curriculum to any particular test. .
Year-Round Schedule:
As we are a year-round school, we have one week off about every three to four weeks (with some exceptions).
